Go the distance for breast cancer research! This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, BCRF will host the 168,000 Step Challenge, a free virtual fitness event on Facebook that raises funds for lifesaving research.
BCRF’s 168,000 Step Challenge honors those impacted by breast cancer and the estimated 168,000 people living with metastatic breast cancer who are counting on breakthroughs. Join us as we come together as a community to get active and make a difference this October.
Walking 168,000 steps during the month of October works out to be roughly 5,300 steps per day. This official BCRF challenge allows you to participate wherever you live and go at your own pace during the month.
To fuel research, participants are encouraged to start Facebook fundraisers for BCRF with any goal and to ask friends and family to support their challenges. Groups of participants can also create teams to take the challenge with friends, family, and coworkers.
To get started, join the challenge Facebook group and find the “Start Your Challenge Here” post at the top of the page. From there, you’ll be directed to sign up for the challenge and launch a fundraiser.
Help us be the end of breast cancer this Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With each step you take and every dollar you raise, you’ll support science that is saving lives and improving outcomes for everyone impacted by breast cancer.
